Theme: Nature + Craft + Sensory Play
Age Group: 3 to 4 years
Parental Involvement: Light supervision and cutting assistance
Duration: 30–40 minutes
Uniqueness Factor: Combines storytelling, nature collection, and animal-based craft in one!

✂️ Materials Needed:

  • Paper bowls (small ones – turtle shell)

  • Green construction paper or craft foam

  • Googly eyes

  • Non-toxic glue

  • Child-safe paint (green, brown, yellow)

  • Sponge or paintbrush

  • Marker or crayons

  • A few pebbles, grass blades, or dried leaves (collected from a walk)

  • Cotton or pom-poms (for decoration)

🐢 Steps:

  1. Paint the Shell:
Turn the bowl upside down. Let the child paint it green. You can guide them to dab with a sponge for a “turtle shell texture.”

  2. Add Nature Bits:
Once dry, help them glue small pebbles, dry leaves, or cotton to the shell for a sensory garden feel.

  3. Make the Legs & Head:
Cut out 4 legs, a small tail, and a round head from green paper. Let the child help by choosing where to place them.

  4. Glue and Decorate:
Attach legs, head, and tail to the bowl (underneath). Stick googly eyes and draw a smile with a crayon or marker.

  5. Name the Turtle:
Let your child give their turtle a name and maybe make a simple “garden bed” on cardboard as its home.
